When I visited the pub for the first time, I was surprised to discover the amount of recipes fairies have. I sat on the terrace, and ordered a thyme infusion and a fairy cake. When they brought it, my mouth was watering at the sight of it. The cake stuffed me a bit but the effect of the thyme in my stomach was very pleasant after such a piece of sweetness. It was a perfect afternoon at the fairy pub!
I’ve taken notes on the recipe so here they are for you (in human amounts of course 😉 :

FAIRY CAKE

INGREDIENTS
1/4 LBS butter
1/2 CUP sugar
4 egg yolks
4 TBSP milk
1/2 CUP flour
2 TBSP flour with 1 TSP baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 TSP vanilla
4 egg whites
1 CUP sugar
1 TSP vanilla
Chopped nuts
Whipped cream

DIRECTIONS
Mix butter, 1/2 CUP sugar, egg yolks, milk, flour, baking powder, salt and 1 TBS vanilla.

Place cake batter evenly into 2 10 inch pans.

Beat egg whites stiff and add 1 cup sugar and vanilla.

Spread mixture onto raw cake batter.

Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Bake in very slow oven – 300 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.

Serve with whipped cream or Lavender Whipped Cream.
